Paradise Valley Estate

Creating formal and informal spaces in the foothills of Camelback Mountain

"This property features stunning views of the Praying Monk and its place amongst the Arizona desert. These key characteristics of the property were utilized to transform the downward slope of the mountain base into dramatic terraces defined by stonewalls.

The lower terrace suggests the formal entertaining loggia, flowing from the home and around the pool. In the elevated terrace, we created informal areas with a sport court and a tennis court for family activities. The plant pallet transitions the garden from a lush pallet to a native planting pallet. This is seen through the back windows, across the pool and lawn, and up the stairs where the desert trees and plants on the perimeter frame the magnificent views of the Praying Monk."
